Need a blog account?
If you're registered for the Summit and need your blog username and ID, just email Donna Maurer (donna at maadmob dot net). She will set you up and/or remind you of your login credentials.
Delays for Europeans
Just a quick note for those who are waiting for/have meetings set up with people flying to Montreal from Europe: Due to heavy snowfall several airports have been closed, many flights have been cancelled, and delays are expected for the next 24 hours.
It looks like the weather will be better today (Thursday) but the forecast for Friday looks bad again, so more attendees might be affected in the coming days...
Welcome to the IA Summit Blog
The IA Summit blog extends the Summit - before, during and after.
Before - use it to arrange social events, ask questions, find out who is doing what.
During - share your impressions of the Summit as it happens, with people attending and people who can't make it.
After - share your learnings and summaries.
Everyone who attends (workshops and the main event) can be a Summit author. When you register, we will assign a username and password. This will be emailed to you as part of your registration.
Keep up to date by adding the feed to your favourite RSS reader.
We are also researching mobile blogging and reading. If you can help out with testing, please let me know.
How to post
Blog address
The IASummit blog is at http://www.iasummit.org/2005/blog/. You can post from this page by clicking the link in the top right-hand corner.

We are using and older version of Movabletype to run the blog – if you have used it before, it is a fairly standard configuration. If you have not used it before, Movabletype is reasonably intuitive, but we haven’t provided extensive instructions here.
Username & password
Your IA Summit blog username is the name that you registered with, in the form firstname.lastname (all lowercase, no punctuation). Your initial password will have been sent to you. You can change your name, add a nickname, email address and website, and change your password the first time you log in – go to Main Menu (in the breadcrumb at the top of the entry page), then 'Edit your profile').

Photographs
You can upload photographs into a blog entry. Optimise your photograph first and use Movabletype to upload the photograph into the default directory (/blogimages/).

Troubleshooting
Email Donna Maurer (donna at maadmob dot net) before or during Summit, or find her around the conference somewhere.
