Call for papers - Pre-conference workshops

Pre-conference workshops occur on the Thursday and Friday prior to the summit itself. They are typically 1/2 day or full day sessions that attendees sign up for ahead of time at an additional cost. Presenters of pre-conference sessions and ASIS&T negotiate a financial agreement to compensate the presenters.

Pre-conference workshops can address core IA principles, emerging trends and technologies, the management of IA or UX teams, or the business of IA and may target audiences with little to no IA experience all the way to highly experienced attendees.

Your pre-conference workshop submission should include the following:

  • Presenter names
  • Professional bios of the presenters (under 100 words)
  • Contact information
  • Workshop title
  • Workshop description (including suggested length - 1/2 day or full day)
  • Target audience (beginner, advanced, etc)

To give you some idea of formatting here are 2 great examples of successful submissions from the 2007 conference. Thanks are due to Donna and James for agreeing to share their documents.

How and when to submit

  • The call for papers closed on November 6th.

Registration: Pre-conference workshop presenters may register for the summit itself at the reduced "additional presenter" rate.
