Extras

The heart of the conference may be the presentations, but the soul is the attendee interaction at the extra features and events developed and supported by the IA community.

Friday and Saturday Night Receptions – These informal receptions provide a great opportunity to meet your peers or catch up with old friends. The reception on Saturday will feature more than 20 posters created by attendees to communicate their work.

Trading Cards – Back by popular demand Jess McMullin and nForm have created a second deck of UX trading cards. The tradition started last year as a conversation starter and quickly ballooned into a collect-the-deck competition. This inspired event will reward prizes for the top players and will include a “card market” on Monday afternoon to help you complete your set.

Mentor Booth – This is your opportunity to get one-on-one assistance from senior people in the industry.

Job Fair Room – Whether you are looking for a job in the IA field, or looking for an employee, the job fair room offers you a great opportunity to network and see what and who is out there. Where better to find a concentration of IA talent and those in need of IAs?

Posters – See a wide variety of Information Architecture concepts and materials displayed in poster format. The poster authors work long and hard to communicate IA principles in a compelling and sometimes playful way.

Wall of Deliverables – See how others are communicating design to their coworkers. This year there will be a special display of deliverables set up so you can peruse them at your leisure. Take back some tips and tricks that your peers are using or participate to get feedback on your deliverables. Whats more, there are prizes for the best deliverables shared! See how to participate.

Flex-track – Jam packed as it is, the conference still can’t cover all the things we have going on in our heads. The flex-track not only re-runs popular sessions, it also offers you the ability to schedule ad-hoc time to talk about anything you want … “birds-of-a-feather” discussions, product demos, anything goes!

Discussion Lounge – Did you run out of time talking to the speaker at the end of a session last year? Just move the discussion into the lounge and you can finish at your leisure without being rushed or getting in the way of the next presentation!

Topical Lunch Tables – For those of you who just can’t stop talking about IA, we’ve extended the discussion opportunities to lunch. Join one of several lunch tables where a host will get the conversational ball rolling on popular topics!
