Peter Allison

Peter Allison is an IA at TechSoup.org, a provider of technology content, community, and product to nonprofit organizations (NPOs). With the emergence of SL and other virtual worlds as platforms from which NPOs are reaching their constituents, a whole new set of best practices needs to emerge. "Making Tools that Work" and "Findability" are the forefront needs of any User Experience work that will happen. Peter has been an IA and web producer for the past 12 years and has worked with McGraw-Hill, Organic and Sega in the US and Amaze in the UK. Prior to this, Allison worked at Sega as a producer and Managing Editor of Heat.Net, where he was known as Doctor Von Pain (which is embarrassing -- but a lot of fun!) and led a team of writers in building community in the game 10Six, one of the first virtual worlds.
