Fred Beecher

Educated in technical communication, I have been working in some aspect of User Experience since 1997. I began by helping to establish a usability testing lab at the University of Minnesota, then went on to write help documentation and develop interfaces for client-server applications at Ancept (later acquired by Stellent). In 2000, I began work as an “Information Designer” with Imaginet, a Minneapolis Web development firm. I remained there through several acquisitions and re-organizations working for a diverse set of clients: RBC Dain Rauscher, Medtronic, UnitedHealth Group, US Marine Corps, and more. During the last year I was there I was the account IA and Business Analyst for the UnitedHealth Group account. I was responsible for both these areas of all UnitedHealth projects. In 2005 I accepted a position as Senior User Experience Consultant with Evantage Consulting, also in Minneapolis. I continue to offer UXP consulting services, specializing in RIA design and evaluation, to a diverse set of clients: Medtronic, UnitedHealth Group, Piper Jaffray, Regis Salons and Thomson-West.
