Lynn Boyden
Lynn Boyden is an Information Architect, teaching in the graduate Information Studies program at UCLA. Prior to this year's teaching gig, she was with the Symantec User Experience team as an Information Architect. Prior to that she brought up a new graduate degree program in film archiving at UCLA, and worked for Rare Medium and arc:eConsultancy, both interactive agencies in the Los Angeles area. Client projects included the Library of Congress, Citibank, and others, although most projects resulted in vaporware. She has a long history of employment that is most tenuously related to information architecture, including a brief stint as photo editor and studio manager for Hustler magazine.
She trained as a librarian, and holds the MLIS from UCLA, although she hasn't worked in a library since high school. Since 2000 she has taught Information Architecture in the library school at UCLA with Chris Chandler. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two kids, a small fish with no name, and two Husqvarna sewing machines.
