Marianne Sweeny

Marianne Sweeny is an information architect and search specialist at Ascentium, an agile consulting company that offers inspired interactive marketing, enterprise solutions, and enterprise content management services to its clients. Her first foray into information architecture was in 1998 and there has been no looking back since then. She co-founded the Microsoft Information Architects, a 300 member community dedicated to bringing the philosophy and best practices of IA to the company. A deep passion for technology, accompanied by a complete ineptitude at programming, brought her to information retrieval systems and search optmization while studying Library and Information Science at the University of Washington. She now adds a geeky fascination with all aspects of search to her creative endeavors. Marianne brings a holistic approach to demand generation and search optimization for Ascentium clients that focuses on content, code, and a strong linking strategy for search technology today and tomorrow.
